General Peppered discount options

In all Ticketing integrations, discounts are usually managed in the Peppered Dashboards. 

Conditional price types are added to events, and shown to visitors in certain conditions:


  1. The visitor has a privilege (a visitor tag combinened with the conditional price type)
  2. There is an active Bundle (the conditional price type is activated when the visitor has a minimum of X events in the shopping cart)
  3. The visitor has a Peppered discount code


All these discount options are default functionality in all Ticketing integrations. The only requirement for the Box-office system is to add new conditional price types to events.



Dynamic Box-office discounts (Itix only currently)


In the Itix API some extra options are available to let Itix be in charge of discounts. This means that the website will adapt to the ticket prices and discounts as managed by Itix. 


To access this feature, activate it in your control panel (in the "ticketing" group):



After each step in the Peppered order process, there is an extra check to Itix to obtain the new total of the order. Any active discount rule in Itix will be communicated to the website and shown directly after a seat booking:

There are several ways a discount can be managed in Itix;

  • Itix can give out discounts based on "privileges" (what Peppered calls "Visitor tags"), so logged in visitors will automatically get the discount in Itix when they have this privilege in Itix.
  • Itix can also give discounts based on what events are in the basket.
  • Itix can also give discounts via discount codes. For this to work we added a new Itix discount code field in the order process, just above the payment options. This code needs to be filled in after all seats have been booked, and the discount will be visible directly after validation:

Good to know...


All Peppered discounts will still be available, so you can mix these discounts at your own will. 

This is especially interesting for Peppered Privileges and Bundles.


But it should be noted: Peppered discount codes use a different field to enter discount codes. This field is shown before seat selection, because it unlocks a different conditional price type that can be booked in the next step. (Itix discount code field is shown after seat section). In order to avoid unclear situations, it would be adviseable to use only one type of discount code at a time. The Itix discount code field will always be shown anyway when dynamic box-office discounts are enabled, so it would make sense to only use the Itix discount codes.
